Reverend Doctor David O. Carter was born in East Orange, New Jersey to Pastor Irving D. Carter & Dr. Dorothy L. Carter. He is the youngest of four sisters and one brother.
Rev. Dr. David O. Carter accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at New Born Baptist Church 524 Avon Ave, Newark, New Jersey by the late Rev. A Pierce. He worked and studied at New Born Baptist Church for many of his younger years.
In 1980 Rev. Dr. David O. Carter was licensed to preach by Rev. Irving D. Carter, and started on his ministry journey. In 1985 Rev. Dr. David O. Carter had finished his college schooling in Alabama and moved to Americus, Georgia. He began teaching in Georgia at Tri-county High School for one year. Rev. Dr. David O. Carter had a desire to go back to New Jersey, and decided to move back to his home state, and the city of Newark, New Jersey.
In the fall of 1987 Rev. Dr. David O. Carter became a member of Abyssinia Baptist Church located on West Kinney Street, Newark, NJ under the Pastor Rev. Perry Simmons. Rev. Perry Simmons helped Rev. Dr. David O. Carter to grow, and inspired him he also received a world of knowledge, and continued support from this great man of God.
In the spring of 1990 the late Pastor Rev. Dr. Robert Johnson was impressed with Rev. Dr. David O. Carter, and decided to give him the opportunity to become the youth Pastor at First Hopewell Baptist church located on Orange Street, Newark, New Jersey. The Rev. Dr. David O. Carter immediately began to work in this historic church in every capacity from teaching, preaching to driving the Church van. In 1993, Rev. Dr. David O. Carter started The New Genesis Outreach Foundation Inc. this ministry deals with drug and alcohol prevention, teen pregnancy, homeless, and many evangelistic ministries, and It has celebrated its 20 Anniversary.
In December of 2005 Rev. Dr. David O. Carter became the Pastor of The Prestigious Union Baptist Church located at 61 Fourth St., Newark, NJ. He has served there faithfully and has accomplished numerous goals, and renewed vigor to that ministry. He has started Block watch programs leading to the arrest of over 200 criminals. He has worked with the community leaders, and is constantly working with the City Officials to bring about a great environment to raise a family.
Rev. Dr. David O. Carter holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, a Master of Science in Education, both from Tuskegee University located in Alabama, where he graduated with honors. Rev. Dr. David O. Carter received his Theological training from the Blanton Peale Graduate Institute in Pastoral Care Studies located in New York. Rev. Dr. David O. Carter Received his Doctorate in Theology from The University of Virginia, Lynchburg. Rev. Dr. David O. Carter is a State Certified teacher, and received his training from the New Jersey City University. Rev. Dr. David O. Carter has numerous certifications to help in his educational role, and his ministry. He has gone through numerous hours of Police Academy training and continues in this endeavor. Rev. Dr. David O. Carter is a great leader, and excellent role model Pastor, Educator, Law Enforcement Officer, and encourager all over the world. Rev. Dr. David O. Carter believes nothing is impossible it just takes a little longer to get there our journey begins with God who is the author and finisher of our Faith.
